Mine is. This is Goldie Smith.

mommy

She’s the BEST mother a girl could ever have. She was a professional woman before we had professional women (she ran my dad’s CPA office long before it was in vogue to do so) and kept us 3 kids out of trouble at the same time! She’s still active the Denver community. She’s proud to have 3 marvelous children, Sheldon, a prominent attorney, Gary, an ads specialty salesman, and me, your gift basket designer. She also has 3 amazing grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

When I grow up, I want to be JUST LIKE HER!

Pamela lost her mother 7 year ago. She was Rena Smith, a wonderful baker and housewife.

RENA

She helped put Pamela through Michigan State University where she studied floriculture and began her career as the amazing floral designer you know in Phoenix. I had the pleasure of knowing Rena during the final years of her life when she came to live at Chris Ridge Village, and there wasn’t a recipe she didn’t remember or a tip she wouldn’t share. May her memory be a blessing.

If your mother is living, we invite you to remember her with fresh flowers on Mother’s Day. Pamela and I will be designing, and we’ll be delivering, the freshest flowers in the Valley of the Sun, and we have a network of florists across the country with whom we work who can design and deliver for mom wherever she lives.

  3. Lovely tribute Tina. My mom is still with me as well and at 98 is as sharp, active and an amazing example of what is possible relating to aging gracefully. Just posted a tribute piece to her as well which I look forward to you reading when you can. My mother always loves red roses, which my dad would buy her on special occasions. Flowers are always a favourite for any time, especially Mother’s Day!

    • Thank you so much, Beverley, for this loving tribute to your mom. My mom is 86. We speak every day, and she and my dad are still living in their home (he’s 92) on the 8th floor of a condo building! I know how special it is to have your mother be strong and supportive. From ow on, every time a man comes in for red roses for his wife, I will think of you.

  4. Yes my mother was the best! Loving, caring and always thoughtful of me. Thank you for the wonderful post!

    • Thank you for responding the way you did, Nate, by opening up about your mom. There is no one in the world who can ever measure up to her.

    • Thanks, Meryl. I wish I could deliver flowers to my mom (she’s in Denver) so I have found a wonderful florist there to deliver flowers to her! I know moms appreciate the flowers that we design and deliver to them for Mother’s Day.

  6. Lovely tribute to both your moms. They have every reason to be proud of who their girls turned into, the caring adult business women. May all women, mom or not experience Sunday as a special day recognizing women.

    • Thank you, Roslyn. I reiterative your sentiments completely!

  8. What a beautiful testament to your mom. I don’t have either my mom (who passed away at 57 years of age) or my mother in law who I was close too. I do miss the mothers in my life.

    • Thank you for sharing, Diana. I know Mother’s Day can be very difficult for people who have lost their mothers, and I hope it helps you get through it by remembering the wonderful memories you have. I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day.

  9. Thanks for sharing this lovely story. I was blessed to have 2 foster moms but they have both passed on….still, they live in my heart. I always bought them flowers on Mother’s Day. They appreciated them so much. Your arrangements are gorgeous and I love the other options you offer as well. 🙂

    • Thank you for sharing the story of your foster moms and the flowers. I know they are proud of you and your accomplishments. Happy Mother’s Day to yuo!

  10. What a nice way to greet your mother. I’m sure she really is very happy and proud! Happy mother’s day to you, too, Tina!

    • Pamela, I printed a copy of this blog and mailed it to my mom. She hasn’t seen it yet!! I sure would love to be a fly on the wall when she gets it! Happy Mother’s Day to you!

  11. My older brother always sends my mother flowers for Mother’s Day so I chose to send her one of Earth and Moon’s beautiful necklaces. Otherwise I would have ordered from you. My mother is an amazing lady at the age of 93 1/2. She has just completed her 2nd round of chemo for the stage 4 lung cancer she was diagnosed with at age 91. She is a great woman of faith and has been an inspiration to so many people during her life time. I do not believe she has ever had a single enemy on earth other than Satan. Everyone loves her.

    • Pat, this is a beautiful tribute to your mom. I feel the same way about mine (at 86 she has mantle cell lymphoma and has been through one round of chemo … which is enough, thank you very much!). And of course sending your mom one of your stunning necklaces is a great present for Mother’s Day! Thank you for sharing this with us. Happy Mother’s Day to you!

  12. Amazing arrangements for our lovely moms! I enjoyed to know a little more about you and your moms! <3

    • Amen, Norma!! Mothers are so special! I love speaking with customers about their moms! I just wish they knew things like: 1) Mom’s name 2) Mom’s address 3) Mom’s phone number!! (I know she’s #1 on the speed-dial, but that doesn’t help me very much!). Happy Mother’s Day to you!!

  15. That is awesome featuring your moms on the blog! That does give me a great idea of doing that too. Thanks. Your moms sound like really wonderful women. happy Mother’s Day!

    • OMG!! You have given me the BEST blog compliment ever! Thank you so much!! For you to think that you would feature your mom on your blog because you saw it on mine is HIGH PRAISE coming from you!! Thank you, thank you! You’ll have to forgive me if I don’t get to enjoy your blog until after the holiday…it’s crazy at the flower shop for the next 3 days! Happy Mother’s Day to you!!

  16. What beautiful flowers, I can’t decide which one I like – they’re both beautiful. My mother is pretty awesome, she is finally living closer to me so I get to see her so much more 😀 Love it!

    • Thanks, Gilly, for your indecisiveness!! We love designing flowers for Mother’s Day…one arrangement is prettier than the next! I’m glad your mother lives closer to you…I wish mine did! Happy Mother’s Day!

  17. What lovely thoughts to share about your mothers! Mine is 80, beautiful, and still working several days a week.

    • Oh, Gina, how wonderful!! Mothers are proof that we can be anything we want to be, even in our 80s! Happy Mother’s Day!

  18. Nice article and lovely to remember mom’s this time of year. They do such fabulous things for us.

    • My mom doesn’t facebook, so I printed a copy of this and mailed it to her! She was SO EXCITED! She said she read it to my dad, and re-read it, too! I think I made her week!! Mothers are the best!

  19. It would be wonderful if we all remembered how much we love people on a regular basis, eh!

    • Yes,Sharon, this is so true. Many times today I reminded people they don’t have to wait for Mother’s Day to give mom flowers!

  20. Beautiful post! Happy Mother’s Day to you!

    • Thanks, Katrina! I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day! We were busy (a lot of walk-in customers) and by the time I got home I was too tired to think about going out for dinner! I think Lauren, Harper and I will celebrate Mother’s Day later this week because Every Day is Mother’s Day!!

  21. Having lost my mom at such a young age, I’ve “borrowed” other people’s mothers at different times in my life. And flowers (or maybe plants) are always part of the celebration!

    • Please accept my belated condolences on the loss of your mother. How fortunate you were to have “borrowed” mothers.

  22. Lovely post. Mom’s are awesome. And your arrangements are beautiful. A great match to celebrate these fantastic folks!
